Little is known of the artist and her career other than that she lived in Mile End in the East End and often painted scenes set in and around her home neighbourhood. This archetypal genre scene could equally be set in the Jewish shtetl (a small town or village in Eastern Europe), or relocated to London. She exhibited with Ben Uri during the 1930s and 1940s, and an oil entitled Refugees was displayed in the second Annual Exhibition of Works by Jewish Artists, hosted by Ben Uri at Woburn House in London WC1 in 1935.
