Adam Kops was born in London in 1956, one of four children of the Dutch-Jewish playwright and poet, Bernard Kops. His grandfather came from the same area of Amsterdam as Anne Frank and much of his European family perished during the Second World War. Kops studied art at Wimbledon and then at St Martin’s Colleges of Art.
